From prostitutes to a secretary, some men in the Secret Service have been getting themselves in sticky situations because of their love for the ladies.

Former Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan, whose agents were caught in unflattering headlines because of the prostitution scandal in Columbia, is the latest man who allegedly became a victim of his love for a special lady.

The Washington Post reported that Sullivan took Secret Service agents off the White House grounds to protect his then secretary, Lisa Chopey, under an assignment called Operation Moonlight.

Of course, Sullivan denies any implied wrongdoing on his part. After all, it looks mighty bad when the former director of an agency in charge of protecting the President of the United States places the life of his secretary above that of the president’s life.

Unfortunately for Sullivan, the name of the assignment, Operation Moonlight, suggests he had something else on his mind that went beyond him just looking out for a friend.

And apparently, the men who were charged with putting Chopey’s safety above that of the president’s safety saw the assignment as strange.

According to the Washington Post, some of the men reported the situation to the inspector general under the Department of Homeland Security.

Although the case didn’t get too far, the recent allegations about Sullivan valuing his secretary just a little too much has caught the attention of a Senate committee and the House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-MI).

And from Rogers’ perspective, according to the Washington Post, Sullivan has “some explaining to do.”
